Torrent- what are torrents?

The torrent is a unique file that is used specifically in the peer-to-peer networks or the P2P environments. Here, many people may wonder what is a P2P environment. The P2P environment is created when a group of different systems operate by communicating with each other with the help of special software known as the proprietary P2P software. In the torrent history, the first ever P2P software especially designed to work with the torrents was BitTorrent. This software was created by Bram Cohen. After this wonderful invention, many other torrent soft wares were produced and the trend is still going on.

There are many types of torrents on the Internet. You can easily download them by logging onto any torrent supporting website. All you have to do is download and torrent software and then download the torrent files by logging on to any torrent website. This downloading process is unique in many ways. Since it is used on peer-to-peer network, any file that you are downloading can be downloaded from your system by another user. Your peer can be your next-door neighbour or from another part of the globe. The more the peers, the greater will be the download speed. The use of torrent files and torrent soft wares is becoming more and more popular.
